Welcome to Just Call Me Friend!
A place to go when a friend is all you need.
When I was in the 3rd grade, a family moved in across the street. They had a little girl my age. Wanting to be friends and play with her, I asked my Mom and Dad “how do you make friends?”. They laughed, like any parent I’m sure would, and said, “you just go talk to them.” Sounds easy enough. So I did that. And…well…we never really became friends. She became part of the popular crowd. I was not.
It wasn’t until I was in my mid-30’s and started getting an intimate relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ, that I truly understood how to make and be a friend. I can now say I have a few intimate friends. These are the kind you can sit with, laugh at, cry with, shout at, shout for, pick up, hold high, pray for, pray with, call at a moment’s notice, talk for hours on end and then do it again the next week or next month. I am so thankful for my time with them. I also have an even larger group of close friends that I may not be as intimate with or talk to near as often but love dearly.
My point is this. We all NEED friends. No one can have too many. I pray that through this blog, you can call me friend, but more importantly, that you can call Jesus your friend. Without Him, we could not possibly understand what a true friend is.
