If God Loves Me, No Other Love Matters

If God Loves Me, No Other Love Matters

I love music. I especially love songs that deal with my Heavenly Father.  They can be praise songs, worship songs, dance songs, rap songs, rock songs, really anything that talks about God and how awesome He is and our relationship with Him. I just can’t handle heavy metal or screamo music. I know some get it and I am NOT bashing it by any means.  My daughter loves it and so do a few of my friends.  I just don’t get it.  It gives me a headache every time I listen to it. If it brings glory to God and

God is Speaking. Are You Listening?

God is Speaking. Are You Listening?

Have you ever had a day, week, month or even a year where God just keeps speaking to you?  Maybe you didn’t listen the first 100 times He tried speaking to you so He tried 100 more ways. God doesn’t just speak in one way. Some people hear best by reading.  Others hear best when His Word is spoken through others.  Still some people may need to look at pictures.  I don’t know how He speaks to you or how you are able to listen to Him best, but I know how I hear God best and He’s been saying

God Knows The Seeds You Plant

God Knows The Seeds You Plant

The seeds that you plant today aren’t always going to be harvested today.  Sometimes they aren’t even harvested in your lifetime.  On the other hand, there are times you get to harvest the seeds that previous generations sowed.  The Israelites had been sowing in the wind for years and God was about to bring the harvest to them…a whirlwind. There are many days each one of us feel like we’re reaping a whirlwind. The dogs keep making messes inside the house.  Your boss calls you into his office to scold you for something your co-worker did.   The dinner

Are You Living, Dying or Both?

Are You Living, Dying or Both?

I have always had a hard time understanding this week’s “Bible Verse of the Week”. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.  Philippians 1:21 (NKJV)   I mean seriously, to live is good.  To die is good.  So why not do both?   So many people have tried to explain this verse to me, especially since the release of Sidewalk Prophets song, “To Live is Christ”.  You can watch the video for the song here. I still didn’t get what the verse was saying.  So I did what I always do when I get stumped…I research my brains

Your Superpower is Your Faith

Your Superpower is Your Faith

It’s common knowledge that every Superhero has a superpower. My husband and oldest daughter love superheros.  So we have a lot of stuff that deals with superheros at our house. Superheros are everywhere in our society right now because of all the movies they keep making and remaking.  With all the hoop-la about superheros and their superpowers, it makes me wonder what it would be like to have a superpower. Which superpower would you choose? Being invisible? Telepathy? Lightning speed? Shape-shifting? Superhuman strength? Would you even want a superpower?     In this week’s “Bible Verse of the Week”,

Best Tip Ever for Christians

Best Tip Ever for Christians

I have a great tip for you!  It deals with maturity.  Every real Christian wants it.  We want to be mature in Christ.  We want to understand everything God has for us, to be able to explain our faith and to tell those around us who Jesus is. Well, today, you get to read about my best tip to do that. This week’s “Bible verse of the Week” comes from the “love chapter” in the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13.  The verse though, is the most overlooked verse from that chapter. We all know verses 4-8, Love is patient and

Rejoice and Be Joyful in God Alone

Rejoice and Be Joyful in God Alone

It is easy to rejoice when everything is going right.  To be joyful is simple when life is flourishing and heartache is far from you.  It isn’t as easy to rejoice and be joyful though when misfortune is in your face every day. I love the prayer in Habakkuk chapter 3.  I love to read it because it reminds me that I am not the only one who has struggles.  Those that lived even before Jesus had a whole lot of issues.  Even with those struggles, though, these verses show us why we should rejoice. 2 I have heard all

No Other Name Can Save You

No Other Name Can Save You

My husband and I love to welcome people to our church.  We set up this cute little table, nothing fancy, and greet almost everyone who walks in the doors.  We meet some of the sweetest most loving people…beautiful people that just want to be loved and accepted for who they are.  This week was no different.  We were able to meet a lot of sweet, loving, and beautiful people. There was a slight difference this week in how we greeted one set of lovely ladies.  These two daughters of the King of Kings walked in and walked rather quickly.  Odd

1 Big Reason to Not Follow the Crowd

I was standing on the edge of the street with a crowd of fellow townspeople.  We were all excited to watch the upcoming parade full of fire engines, clowns, bands, gymnasts, old cars and people.  We eagerly await the activities many times a year in our little town with full emotions. Crowds have a way of unifying people and building passion.  They just may not always unify with a Godly cause. As we are nearing the end of Passover Week,  I wonder what it would have been like to be one of those in the crowd that week.  How they cried

Change doesn’t happen to everything

Some things never change.  That outfit that looked hideous on you in high school still looks hideous on you.  The drain in the tub still has that same dripping leak it had 10 years ago.  The person that tore you apart mentally growing up continues to be the same person trying to tear you apart in your adult years. If nothing changes, nothing will ever change. If you never fix the leak in the bathtub, it is always going to drip.  It will not just magically fix itself–oh how I wish it would.  Likewise, if you allow a person to hold
